I am 27 years of age and was born in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. I lived in Pietermaritzburg with my Parents and younger brother until I matriculated from Maritzburg College in 2006. I then moved up to Johannesburg to pursue my cycling career.
My interest in racing bicycles started at the age of 12. I turned professional at 17 years of age with Team MTN and was with them for 7 years. I really enjoyed my time racing internationally and being based in Italy for two of those years until I suffered an unfortunate shoulder injury which kept me off the bike for 6 months. I am fully recovered now and enjoy racing again as the captain of the Road Cover Professional Cycling Team.
I have experienced many other sports but none of them interested me or gave me the same joy that cycling does. I value family and friends. I believe in hard work and I am a team player which will always give 110%.
